Cycling Across Canada, an Asthmatic's Journey

The Quebec Lung Association thanks Serge Chantal and his teammates: Marc Chantal, Yves Gauthier et André Méthot, who traveled 9,000 kilometres on bikes across Canada, to raise awareness among people with respiratory diseases about the importance of staying in shape in order to improve their living conditions.

Hello,

My name is Serge Chantal.

On May 3, I will begin my great journey across Canada on bicycle that will end approximately on August 8.

The goal of this journey? To collect funds for the Quebec Lung Association and to raise the awareness of the people suffering from respiratory diseases about the importance of exercising and keeping fit to improve their quality of life.

Being diagnosed myself with asthma (moderate to severe), I train four times per week. And for the past ten years, I have spent my vacations doing cycle touring. I have completed many long bicycle trails so far. On this trip, I will be accompanied by my brother and two friends.

I would like to thank the Quebec Lung Association in advance for their trust and their support which is allowing me to undertake this journey. On this Web site, I will inform you regularly about our progression and about the adventures that we will encounter.
